The salon usually needs a cosmetology business licence.
The most important thing when choosing a brow artist is the portfolio. Choose an artist whose Instagram or website shows a range of brow shapes and styles (not just one type). Alongside the prices, look closely at the before and after photographs — a quality artist shows "healed" results (4–8 weeks after the correction), not only fresh ones where the pigment is darker at the start. Read Google reviews and judge how the comments talk about the long-term result, not just the appearance at the appointment.
A consultation before semi-permanent make-up is essential. The brow artist must assess your skin type (oily skin holds pigment for less time, dry skin for longer), skin colour, the shape you want and what result is realistic. Microblading aftercare is ongoing — for the first 7–10 days it is important to keep the brow hairs clean and dry. Although some studios recommend "dry healing" (not washing the brow at all for 7 days), newer protocols recommend gentle washing 2–3 times a day with a mild soap, followed by applying a soothing balm. Avoid the sauna, the swimming pool, intensive exercise, make-up in the brow area and sunlight for 2 weeks.
After complete healing (4–6 weeks) and the correction session, SPF 30+ sun protection must be worn on the brow area to preserve the pigment — UV light bleaches the pigment, which is why clients who are much in the sun lose colour faster. Every 1–2 years a maintenance session is needed as a refresh, to keep the shape and the colour fresh.
