Methodology

We want every decision you make based on the Ilusalong24.ee directory to be transparent and verifiable. This page describes how we collect, validate and publish our data.

1. Who gets listed

The directory lists businesses that:

  • Provide services in Estonia (beauty salon, beauty clinic, spa, hairdresser, beautician, massage therapist, nail technician, lash technician, etc.).
  • Have a public place of business or a website where their contact details can be verified.
  • Are registered in the Estonian Business Register or a service-provider registry.

If a clinic meets these conditions, it can get a directory profile in two ways: on our editorial team's initiative (so-called seed data for the initial directory) or on its own initiative using the Add a new salon form.

2. How we collect data

The initial data comes from three sources:

  1. Public websites. We collect service lists, opening hours and contact details from clinics' websites using automated web reading.
  2. The Estonian Business Register. We verify the company's legal name, registry code and business address.
  3. The clinic's own confirmation. After publication we contact the clinic and ask them to confirm or correct the information.

3. How we verify data

Before going live, every clinic passes the following sequence of checks:

  • Contact details. Phone and email must work — we spot-check by calling or sending an email.
  • Location. The address must be findable in the Estonian address registry.
  • Services and prices. Featured services must match the clinic's official website.
  • Editorial review. Every new entry is reviewed by a human before publication.

4. How often we update

We update clinics' core data at least once a quarter. Changes to opening hours and prices are applied within 48 hours of being notified. Every page footer shows a Last updated date, so you can judge how fresh the information is.

5. Review moderation

Only signed-in users can write reviews, one review per clinic every 180 days. Before publication, each review passes an automated filter (word list, duplicate content and spam) followed by human moderation. We remove:

  • Hate speech, insults and threats.
  • Commercial advertising and disparagement of competitors.
  • Reviews unrelated to an actual visit.
  • Reviews under 30 words with no concrete information.

Clinics cannot delete their reviews, but they can reply to them publicly.

6. Placement and ranking

The order of directory results depends on the following factors — all of them publicly readable, and no one can buy a position:

  • Data completeness (contacts, prices, photos, description).
  • Average customer review score and volume.
  • How recent the latest data update is.
  • How quickly the clinic responds to reviews and questions.

7. How to remove yourself from the directory

A clinic owner can email info@ilusalong24.ee at any time and ask for the profile to be deleted. We process requests within 14 business days.
