About us
Last updated:
Ilusalong24.ee is Estonia's independent directory of beauty salons and clinics. Our goal is to make the beauty world transparent and trustworthy — so that finding a good hairdresser, beautician or massage therapist is easy, fast and free.
Why did we build this directory?
Hundreds of beauty salons, clinics and spas operate in Estonia, but information about them is scattered — some on websites, some on Facebook, some in Google Maps. Comparing prices, reviews and opening hours means hopping from tab to tab. We wanted one place where all of this information is structured, comparable and free of pay-to-play defaults.
What we offer
- Location-based search. Find beauty salons and clinics in your city, county or neighbourhood — Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Narva and 40+ other Estonian towns.
- Service filters. Facials, massage, eyelash extensions, laser hair removal, hairdressers, nail technicians and much more.
- Verified profiles. Our editorial team checks every clinic's contact details, opening hours and services before publishing.
- Real reviews. Only authentic customer reviews — moderated, not machine-generated.
- Prices and booking links. Clinics can update their own profiles and add a direct booking link.
- Guides and glossary. Over 30 in-depth guides and 35 glossary terms explaining procedures, prices and what to expect.
Our editorial team
The Ilusalong24.ee editorial team is a small Estonian crew that combines hands-on experience of the beauty industry, medical fact-checking and the technical upkeep of the database. Every role matters for the quality of the directory:
- Editor-in-chief. Responsible for content strategy, methodology updates and external feedback. Approves the publication of guides and glossary terms.
- Data team. Collects and updates clinics' core data from public registries (the Business Register, the Health Board) as well as clinics' own websites and web searches, and maintains the directory's infrastructure.
- Editors. Prepare guides, verify the accuracy of pricing information, validate clinics' service lists and answer customer enquiries.
- External consultants. Dermatologists, doctors and licensed beauticians who review articles containing medical background information (e.g. the Botox and laser hair removal guides).
We do not publish individual author bylines, because every guide is a team effort: the data team brings the facts, an editor structures the content and, where needed, a consultant verifies medical accuracy. The author is always "the Ilusalong24.ee editorial team".
Our methodology
We believe a transparent methodology is the foundation of trust. Every clinic is assessed by the same system — data completeness, user feedback, our editorial checks and relevance to the search. The full description lives on a separate page: see our methodology.
Data sources and update frequency
Clinic information is never static — contacts change, prices are revised, teams move on. That is why we combine four sources with different cycles and weight:
| Source | What we use it for | Update frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Public registries | Company name, registry code, valid operating licence (the Health Board for medical clinics) | Every 30 days |
| Clinic confirmation | Opening hours, list of services, prices, booking links | By the owner — clinics can update these themselves; we re-check every 90 days |
| User feedback | Reviews, ratings, reports of outdated information | Real time (after moderation) |
| Scheduled re-checks | Cross-checking against clinics' own websites and web search: address, contact details and opening hours. Discrepancies are routed to an editor for review. | On a schedule (once a quarter) |
Quality assurance process
Every new clinic goes through a 4-step check before it is published in the directory:
- 1. Collection. The data team gathers public data (name, address, contacts, list of services) and adds it to the raw-data pool.
- 2. Validation. An editor verifies the contact details (by calling the phone number or emailing), the registry code in the Business Register and, for medical clinics, the operating licence with the Health Board.
- 3. Publication. After validation, the profile is added to the directory. The clinic owner can claim the profile and keep it up to date themselves.
- 4. Updates. Scheduled re-checks based on clinics' websites and web search; a manual check every 90 days; owner updates applied on an ongoing basis.
Independence and avoiding conflicts of interest
The project is financially independent — we do not sell ranking positions or take money for better placement in search results. Placement in the directory depends solely on data completeness, user reviews and how well a clinic matches the search.
When articles mention specific brands (e.g. Juvéderm, HydraFacial), the mention is always based either on (a) the product's actual presence on the Estonian market or (b) its clinical relevance to the procedure described. Brands do not pay us for placement. Our income comes from optional profile-enhancement services offered to clinics, not from direct influence over content.
Recommended badges go only to clinics that belong to our editorially verified quality programme — never because they paid.
How to give feedback or request corrections
If you spot outdated information or an incorrect contact in the directory, or want your clinic removed from it, write to info@ilusalong24.ee. We reply within 2 business days. Clinic owners can claim their profile on the For salon owners page.
