Typical side effects are mild redness for 1–4 hours, a temporary sensation of warmth and, rarely, slight swelling. After RF microneedling there may be redness and light crusting for 24–72 hours. More serious and rare risks: burns (if the wrong parameters are used), loss of pigment (on very dark skin types) and changes in sensation.
Contraindications: pregnancy, having a cardiac pacemaker, metal implants in the treatment area, active skin inflammation or infection, fresh bruising, autoimmune diseases and ongoing cancer treatment. Be open at the consultation about every aspect of your medical history.
