Mesotherapy is a procedure offered in Health Board (Terviseamet)-licensed aesthetic clinics, in which a mixture of vitamins, amino acids, hyaluronic acid and peptides is delivered into the skin via micro-injections. Depending on the mixture and depth used, it stimulates collagen production, hydrates the skin, treats hair loss, or reduces localised fat deposits. The Estonian database lists 27 mesotherapy providers, mostly aesthetic clinics in Tallinn and Tartu.
How does mesotherapy work?
The substance is delivered either directly into the skin (an intradermal injection) or subcutaneously (into the fat layer), depending on the goal. Classic facial mesotherapy uses a cocktail of hyaluronic acid and vitamins, injected 1–2 mm deep across the face, neck and décolletage — the result is more hydrated, radiant, plumper skin. In scalp mesotherapy, biotin, B vitamins and peptides are injected into the scalp to stimulate the hair follicles.
A course usually consists of 3–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, with one maintenance session recommended every 3–4 months. A single session lasts 30–60 minutes; a fine 30G needle is used, and often a topical numbing cream too, to reduce injection pain. After the session, mild redness and minimal injection marks may appear for 12–24 hours.
Mesotherapy in Estonia
In Estonian aesthetic clinics, a single session of facial mesotherapy usually costs €90–180, and packages of 3 sessions €240–450. Scalp mesotherapy costs €100–200 per session, with a course (4–6 sessions) costing €380–950. The injection is performed by a doctor or certified nurse at a Health Board-licensed centre. Always choose a licensed clinic, and ask about the exact composition of the injected substances beforehand.
